Most small ecommerce warehouses run on memory and a good attitude. That scales exactly as far as the person holding it. Lasti gives every shelf a name and every movement a record, so the warehouse keeps working when the person who set it up is on holiday.

Every warehouse runs this loop, whether or not it has software. Lasti's job is to record it accurately without slowing anyone down.

Receiving
Scan the delivery against the purchase order. What arrived short, what arrived extra, and what was never ordered are all recorded rather than absorbed.

Putaway
Lasti suggests a location based on where the product already lives and what is free. Scan the shelf to confirm, and the stock is findable by anyone.

Picking
Lines are ordered by walking route, not by order number. One trip through the aisles can serve several orders at once.

Packing
Scan each item into the box. A mis-pick is caught at the bench, before the parcel is sealed and before the customer finds it.

Counting
Count a shelf without stopping the warehouse. Adjustments record a reason and a person, so a shrinking figure can be investigated rather than guessed at.
Picking
The list is sorted by the route, not by the order
Picking three orders one at a time means walking the same aisle three times. Lasti merges them into a wave, sorts the lines by location, and splits them back into orders at the packing bench.
- Scan to confirm. The scan is the record. Nobody types a quantity into a phone while holding a box.
- Short picks are a state. If the shelf is empty, say so on the spot — the order is flagged and the count is corrected, rather than the difference appearing at month end.
- Any phone works. It is a browser page. A £30 Bluetooth scanner pairs as a keyboard if you want faster input.

Locations
Name the shelves once
A location is any place stock can sit still — a shelf, a pallet space, a receiving bay, a quarantine corner. Lasti prints the labels; you stick them on and count stock into them.
- A-04-3 Zone A, aisle 04, shelf 3 The default shape. Readable out loud, short enough for a label.
- RECV-01 Receiving bay 1 Staging areas are locations too, so stock is never in limbo.
- PICK-A Forward pick face, zone A Fast movers get a second location, replenished from bulk.
- QUAR Quarantine Damaged or disputed stock is held out of the sellable figure.
What Lasti is not
It is not a conveyor control system, it does not plan truck loads, and it will not run a 10 000 m² distribution centre with automated storage. Lasti is built for warehouses where people walk to shelves and pick things up. If that stops describing you, you will outgrow it, and we would rather say so now.
