Built by people who were already running the warehouse
Lasti is made by Puida Oy in Lahti, Finland. Before it was a product it was the internal tooling behind our own WooCommerce store — written because the alternatives were either a spreadsheet or an enterprise WMS quoting six figures.
Lasti means cargo
It is the Finnish word for a load — what a ship or a lorry is carrying. We picked it because the product is about the physical thing on the shelf, not the row in the database that claims to describe it.
Where it came from
Puida Oy runs Protocache, a WooCommerce store selling motion, control and electronics components. It has a real warehouse behind it, with real shelves, and for a long time it had the problems every store that size has: stock figures that drifted, a catalog maintained through CSV exports, and picking that depended on knowing where things were kept.
We looked at what was available. The warehouse systems that solved it properly were priced and scoped for distribution centres. The WooCommerce plugins that were affordable solved one slice each and did not talk to one another. So we built the layer we wanted, used it on our own store, and found that the parts that mattered were not the ones we expected — bin locations and a trustworthy count did more for us than any report.
Lasti is that system, made into a product. Protocache is still running on it, which means every change ships to us before it ships to anyone else.
What that means for you
We are a small company and we are not going to pretend otherwise. You will talk to people who have actually picked an order. Support is not a tier you buy your way into. And when something in Lasti is wrong, it is wrong for our warehouse too, which is the strongest incentive structure we know how to build.
How we build it
Four decisions already made
These are not aspirations on a wall. Each one is visible in the product, and each one costs us something.

The count is the truth
When the store and the shelf disagree, the physical count wins and the store is corrected. Any system that resolves it the other way is teaching people to distrust the count.

Nothing writes without permission
Lasti connects read-only. Every field it is allowed to write to your store is one you handed it deliberately, and you can hand it back.

Say what it does not do
The features page lists what exists, not what is planned. If Lasti cannot do the thing you need, we would rather lose the sale than discover it together in month three.

Your data leaves as easily as it arrived
Full export of the catalog and the movement history, any time, without asking. Lock-in through data hostage is a business model we are not interested in.
Talk to the people who build it
There is no sales team to get past. A demo is a call with someone who works on the product and has run the warehouse it came from.
